Faterulers

In Faterulers, we play as immortal beings called Shepards in a high fantasy world of your imagination, trying to guide the mortals into the future, and prevent Faterulers from messing with them.

MAJOR NOTE. Faterulers is a fantasy TTRPG made for the 2026 48-word ttrpg jam. A minimalistic linguistic approach was used to write the game, thus leaving the possibility for major rules interpretation. No FAQ has been developed for the game, since they were considered by the author a break within the jam and game spirits.

Setting

Since the dawn of time, the fates of the people of Myderde have been influenced by those who live beyond the span of mortal life of mortals. 

Elves, dwarves, littlefolk, fairies, and many other immortals followed a higher call, from their gods or seers beyond the land of Myderde, to lead humans into new ages. They are called, in fact, Shepards among themselves.

But as they indirectly influence the fate of mortals, like river banks containing the flow of life, there are forces in the shadows that try to rule over them, and shadows can be tricky. They can corrupt even the purest soul, transforming Shepards into Faterulers, those who do not guide the river, but impose their own vision and rule mortals.

Shepards will use all their powers to secure mortals’ fate, and fight the Faterulers in the Last Battle.

Gameplay

The game requires the players to draw lines on a A4 sheet paper. Each line affects the way a Shepards guide mortals, and which prices or evil forces are involved in it. A final line is traced to describe the Last Battle against the shadow forces of the Faterulers.

Game Features

The game is printable on a single A4 that you can fold to the size of a business card.

Players: 2 to 5, but theoretically you can play it alone if you want.

Time: 3-4 hours suggested

Materials: a A4 sheet of paper, a ruler, some pencils
